‘room 42’ is an album which B O K E H wrote, performed, engineered and produced herself in-between her Berlin studio and on the road, from her home country, Aotearoa (New Zealand), to Europe.

The album is a culmination of B O K E H’s desire to nurture, ‘human warmth, sensuality, tenderness, connection, intimacy, self-love, celebration and liberation.’

Expect to hear modern, cinematic, electro-indie-pop with a 90s flavour. Tying together a diverse range of genre-defying sounds, are B O K E H’s confessional vocals, which alternate from soft to sassy, with an undeniable theme of romance and desire.

Analogue synths, organs, a string ensemble, a gospel choir, electric guitar, playful bass, and sexy sax solos make up the soundscape and the beats are inspired from 80s/90s Hip-Hop and RnB, using samples which were made from field recordings collected from the streets.
